Gconnect SDSL 512k
is a fast broadband service with equal download
and upload speeds offering performance that
compares with high-speed Leased Line connectivity
but at significantly lower cost along with much
better (10:1) contention rates than even business
ADSL packages.
Gconnect SDSL is the perfect solution for
businesses that rely extensively on the Internet
and it makes a world of additional services
possible, perhaps for the first time. It is a
service best suited to anyone sending and
receiving large amounts of data ie:
Photographers, Designers, Architects,
Publishers, Printers, Marketing/Advertising
companies.
It also enables organisations to take advantage of
Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Virtual Telephony,
Virtual IT, Video Conferencing, LAN Extension
Services, and Point to Point - or almost any
solution that relies on bi-directional data flow. |

Technical Notes on Gconnect SDSL 512k account
SDSL operates on a number of exchanges across the
UK but coverage is still limited (please use our
SDSL availability checker to determine if you are
within range of an SDSL enabled exchange) and is
available up to 3.7km from the exchange.
Unlike
ADSL, SDSL will require a new line to be installed
by BT, hence an engineering visit will be required
to install the SDSL line. This will be included in
the service set-up cost. This visit will not
include the set up of the attached router. The
Cisco 828G SHDSL (SDSL) Router,
available pre-configured on our hardware page can
be quickly and simply installed by the end user.
Please note that the SDSL line cannot be used for
voice calls as it is a dedicated data-only line. |
