Technical
Notes on 0845 Pay as you go access
We use BT for our 0845 service - they have the
best infrastructure in the country. Because BT
make money from your call charges they always
provide more than adequate bandwidth and line
availability. For this reason 0845 dial-in
access is better than 0808 dial-in access. So
0845 access is best for users with low usage
(less than £20 a month in call charges) or for
users who need a rock solid connection with no
cut-off or idle restrictions (as applicable to
0808 accounts). For this reason, many of our
customers are happy to pay more for an 0845
service than they could for a flat rate 0808
service. But be careful! At 4p per minute
peak, it is very easy to run up a big phone bill
either through increased usage, or through
faulty set-up that holds the line up for longer
than necessary.
